Covid Guidelines
COVID-19 Health and Safety Procedures and Protocols
All players and staff at the 2022 North American School Scrabble Championship must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Players must have received an FDA-approved vaccine at least two weeks prior to the event. Staff must have received all shots and boosters for which they are eligible.
Each player’s vaccination status must be confirmed during online registration. Additionally, each player’s vaccination card or a photo of the card must be presented at tournament check-in on Saturday, May 14.
Players must fulfill all of these requirements in order to participate in the event.
Additionally, at the tournament:
- Players and staff will be required to wear an N95 or KN95 mask covering the nose and mouth. Masks will be available for those who need them.
- Only players and staff will be permitted in the playing room.
- Players will be asked to sanitize their hands before each round. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the playing room.
- Eating will not be permitted in the playing room. Bottled water will be allowed but players will be asked to lower their masks only briefly to drink.
As of March 1, 2022, Planet Word does not require proof of vaccination to enter the museum. However, all visitors must abide by Planet Word’s COVID-19 Safety Guidelines, which include wearing a mask that fully covers the nose and mouth at all times while inside the museum.
Specific public health and safety protocols may change as the event approaches.
